Frequently Asked Questions

New City of Norman Ordinance (O-2021-3), How it Applies Us

July 8th, 2020
We have received several questions today regarding the ordinance mandating the wearing of face coverings in certain public settings that was passed last night by the Norman City Council. Per conversations with the city and effective immediately, this ordinance applies to us as follows:

  1. Coaches, umpires and fans over six years old are required to wear a face covering at the ballparks.
  2. Players do not have to wear a face covering. Other exceptions are noted in the below ordinance.
  3. “Face Covering” means a covering that fully covers a person’s nose and mouth, including, but not limited to cloth facemasks, towels, scarves, and bandanas as recommended by the CDC. The Face Covering should fit snuggly on a person’s face but allow the person to breath easily and worn consistent with the guidance provided by the CDC.

Oklahoma continues to experience a sharp increase of reported COVID-19 cases. If we do not do our part in helping to slow the spread then it is only a matter of time before our season ends prematurely.

We know wearing a mask and social distancing might feel inconvenient but please do your part to give our kids the best chance to finish the season. Thank you and see you at the ballpark!
